Aurea is a co-housing project for residents aged 55+ that combines five independent, barrier-free apartments with thoughtfully designed shared spaces, creating a balance between personal independence and social connection.
At the heart of the project is a spacious communal kitchen and dining area where residents can cook and share meals together. Additional common areas include a comfortable lounge for informal gatherings and a library designed for relaxation and quiet social interaction.
To support an active lifestyle, the project features a multifunctional room for exercise, meditation, and group classes, as well as a dedicated workspace with individual desks for remote work and focused activities.
The highlight of Aurea is its rooftop retreat: an intimate wellness and social space featuring a sauna, jacuzzi, lounge area, and outdoor kitchen. Designed as both a place of relaxation and a gathering point, it encourages residents to unwind, connect, and spend quality time together.
The design was developed through participatory workshops, with a strong focus on accessibility, privacy, and fostering a vibrant and supportive community.
